Colleen Hagerty

As a journalist covering extreme weather and natural hazards, I have waded through flooded streets, watched buildings get wrecked by wind, and felt the sting of wildfire smoke in my throat while interviewing sources who have lost everything. I’ve also had disasters hit close to home and threaten my own safety, belongings, and loved ones. I’ve seen how much a difference basic emergency preparedness can make. My goal is to help make it more accessible to all readers, no matter their location, budget, or unique needs.

I also handle our pest-control guides, including those focused on bug repellents and mousetraps. I assist with some emergency-prep coverage, as well.
