Stay Safe From Ticks While Hiking In Northern California This Summer
CHICO, Calif. - As summer approaches, many are eager to enjoy the great outdoors, but ticks pose a risk for diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
Action News Now spoke with Kurt Avery, an expert on the subject, to learn how to minimize these risks.
Avery, the founder of Sawyer Products, emphasized that there is no need to panic if you encounter a tick.
"You got, you know, eight to 24 hours before they'd ever transmit fluids that would give you a disease. So you got a lot of time," Avery said.
