So taking proactive steps to secure an emergency water supply is essential to staying safe during hurricanes, floods, and other storm-related disasters. Emergency Water Supply for Storm Season
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) you will need to store at least one gallon of water per person per day for drinking and sanitation. To be absolutely sure, try to aim for storing at least a two-week supply of water for each member of the household. This means a family of four should have a minimum of 56 gallons of water available to sustain them through a prolonged emergency.
